AFNOR SPEC 2212Setting the Standard for Advanced Innovation

AFNOR SPEC 2212 is a benchmark specification developed to address the growing need for robust, sustainable, and forward-thinking solutions in printed circuit board design. It combines stringent quality standards with cutting-edge innovation, making it a key reference point for organizations aiming to align with industry best practices.

Key Features of AFNOR SPEC 2212:

Comprehensive Design Guide

Replaces the obsolete NF C93-713 standard, offering up-to-date routing parameters for PCBs.

Routing Classification System

Introduces 10 distinct Routing Classes (RC), enabling designers to select appropriate design values based on project complexity and component requirements.

Extensive Constraint Parameters

Provides access to over 60 constraint parameters, totaling more than 800 values, facilitating precise and tailored PCB designs.

Integration with CAD Tools

Plans are underway for electronic CAD software publishers to incorporate these constraints directly into their tools, streamlining the design process.

Free download!

The group of experts chose to publish AFNOR SPEC 2212 through AFNOR (French Standardization Association). Unlike other international PCB design rule specification and standards this document can be downloaded for free, greatly facilitating its adoption by the entire international industry. Rencently, the International Electrotechnical Comission voted the promotion of Afnor Spec 2212 at the IEC level.

Benefits of Implementing AFNOR SPEC 2212:

Enables designers to create PCBs that meet current quality, cost, and performance standards.

Simplifies the design process by providing a clear and structured framework, reducing the time and effort required for PCB development.

Available for free download from the AFNOR website, promoting widespread adoption across the international electronics industry.
